After seeing high altitude ballooning photos, we were inspired to capture our own. With encouragement from other balloonists, we caught the fever and had to launch!
Anxious about our first time, we expected to lose both payloads. We were ecstatic to recover both and get incredible images from basic cell phone cameras!
Now that we had some experience, it was time to bring out the big guns (read: nice cameras and a GoPro). Three launches and recoveries later, we had even better photos and a video!
Time to up the ante and get some sunrise shots! This launch required an overnight and an early morning, but we were rewarded with successful radio tracking and a beautiful sunrise.
With a Google film crew in tow to shoot a Made With Android campaign, it was a long day that included run-ins with shotguns and rattlesnakes, but we survived and had a blast!
Reunion Weekend with the CasaDeBalloon club and some new members. Experimenting with custom radio trackers and trying out a new launch site!
